About the Role
Alan B. Miller Medical Center is a new state-of-the-art hospital joining UHS's growing regional network of healthcare operations in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The facility will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building, a helistop, and 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. Services include Emergency Care, Orthopedics, Surgical Services, Oncology, Cardiovascular, and Neurosurgical services, with outpatient services available in the medical office buildings.
Responsibilities
- Implement, manage, and oversee quality improvement programs for clinical focus areas of stroke, sepsis, and cardiovascular clinical data and reporting
- Provide instruction, training, and education regarding assigned programs
- Track measures, determine data validity, and report results in a format that can be reported to regulatory and accreditation registries
- Ensure knowledge of continual readiness requirements for accreditation and regulatory surveys through data collection, rounding, and feedback to departments and staff
- Present data and provide education and feedback to patients, staff, and leaders in the facility regarding areas of expertise
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited educational institution required
- MS in nursing or master's degree in related field from an accredited educational institution preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in quality assurance in an acute care setting
- Minimum 1-3 years as a clinical nurse in medical surgical setting
- Experienced in the use of core measures abstraction, benchmarking, spreadsheet software, and databases
- Thorough understanding of Joint Commission standards, NPGs, state and federal standards, core measures, and value-based star ratings for clinical indicators
- Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies and outcome management
- Knowledge of peer review and clinical chart reviews
- Knowledge of healthcare facility operations, functions, and staffing requirements
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Cerner (preferred)
- Current and unencumbered Florida Registered Nurse license
- CPHQ preferred; must be obtained within 24 months of hire date
