Quality Coordinator

About the role

Stryten Energy manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive, and consumer markets. The individual is responsible for inspections and tests of products, processes, and materials across all product areas. You will provide guidance and partner with production personnel (supervisors and operators) to contain issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Additionally, you will follow up on customer complaints related to your shift and departments while complying with Stryten and ISO 9001 procedures and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality audits and inspections per documented procedures.
• Conduct First Piece Inspections (FSA), create deviations, and submit for engineering approval.
• Provide first sample approval pieces, marked where trim is needed according to customer specifications.
• Contain nonconforming or suspect nonconforming product using Hold Tags, communicating issues to the production team and immediate supervision.
• Provide day-to-day quality direction and support to manufacturing in the form of procedures and guidance.
• Monitor and maintain quality workstations on the shop floor, ensuring gauges and inspection systems are in good working order.
• Maintain cleanliness of automated inspection systems.
• Ensure department equipment used for in-process testing is within calibration and conforms to standard requirements.
• Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and other equipment to verify product conformance to specifications.
• Work with the team on problem-solving initiatives, linking actions and outcomes to Control Plans, PFMEAs, plant inspection points, and customer returns.
• Assist in communicating changes or replacements of work instructions.
• Participate in corrective action resolution for internal KPIs and external customer issues (e.g., assembly plant complaints and warranty initiatives).
• Wear and maintain appropriate PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, uniforms) and follow all health and safety rules, including recurring blood tests and industrial hygiene practices.
• Be available to work flexible shifts to ensure proper coverage.
• Work overtime as needed to complete work in process and communicate with other shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum High School degree or GED.
• Experience with gages and other measurement equipment is a plus.
• Understand basic math and statistics.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Familiar with problem-solving techniques (e.g., root cause analysis, 5 Whys).
• Quality and customer-oriented mindset.
• Able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment on multiple projects.
• Experienced in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills (Windows-based programs).
• Able to occasionally lift and move up to 35 lbs. for the duration of a 12-hour shift.

Schedule

• Shifts available: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
• 2-2-3 cycle (rotating schedule).
• Night shift includes a $1.00/hour shift differential.

Pay

$21.43/hour.
