Quality Coordinator

About the Role

The Quality Coordinator supports the quality assurance function by performing laboratory testing, monitoring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, and ensuring products meet all specifications prior to release. This role conducts physical, chemical, and sensory evaluations, manages key quality programs, and supports audits and customer-related quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical, chemical, and organoleptic (sensory) evaluations on raw materials, in-process, and finished products using laboratory equipment.
• Conduct periodic Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections and sensory evaluations, documenting findings and follow-up actions.
• Assist in compiling quality and statistical data, including reviewing raw material and product specifications for compliance.
• Manage laboratory equipment calibration, perform routine maintenance, and conduct instrument validation studies.
• Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for analysis, data entry, and maintaining specifications.
• Support new product commercialization through testing, documentation, and quality verification.
• Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for outgoing orders to verify product specifications.
• Manage third-party microbiological testing data and ensure positive release of finished goods.
• Participate in or lead quality improvement and customer-related projects.
• Perform Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) swabs and take on higher-level EMP responsibilities.
• Ensure products meet specifications through routine inspections and verification.
• Lead the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) program and oversee laboratory retain sample storage.
• Audit Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) paperwork and follow safety and GMP rules.
• Participate in audits, identify and resolve issues, and report food safety and quality concerns to management.
• Provide coverage for QA supervisor or technician roles when needed.
• Support response to adverse events by coordinating quality actions and documentation.
• Coordinate and maintain compressed air and water sampling programs, including testing and documentation.
• Manage weekly Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) tasks and close related tasks in the MVP Plant system.
• Perform environmental swabbing, ATP swabbing, and other laboratory or hygiene tests.
• Review and sign off on Operational Hygiene forms and sanitation paperwork.
• Maintain environmental, safety, and quality documentation, ensuring accuracy and consolidation into weekly packets.

Qualifications

• New Graduate in a Scientific Discipline
• Or High School Diploma with experience in quality assurance or quality control, including product release and working with Certificates of Analysis (COAs)

This is a Contract position based in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $37.00/hr. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent factors.
