About the role
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Quality Control – Test & Inspection Supervisor to lead the in-process quality control staff and provide technical and quality control support for the Switchgear Division.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities and staff required to ensure in-process and testing quality of finished goods according to company specifications with emphasis on positive employee relations.
- Lead staff according to Company policies and procedures to effectively achieve Company and department objectives.
- Supervise staff by communicating job expectations; monitoring and appraising job performance; and providing coaching and training.
- Provide technical support and advice to employees in the manufacturing, engineering and sales departments to prevent and/or remedy quality problems.
- Participate in Kaizen events as necessary.
- Investigate and assist in the disposition of quality problems by reviewing quality trends, tracking the root cause(s) of the problem(s), coordinating corrective actions and implementing appropriate adjustments.
- Resolve inquiries to satisfaction in a courteous and timely manner.
- Review quality trends to prevent or reduce defects.
- Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
- Supervise the rework of all non-conforming material in the 512 Building.
- Perform quality audits as required.
- Assist engineering with design improvement and cost reduction efforts.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience with quality control/inspection and 2 years of management/supervisor experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of quality control, engineering, production, and statistical methods and techniques.
- Advanced interpersonal communication, and presentation skills required to communicate and maintain effective relationships with employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material.
- Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office Products and ERP/MRP systems.
