Quality Control Technician Journey or Apprentice
Job Summary
Will be responsible for performing chemical analyses, this includes coal, water, heat, vibration, oil, coal burn and other related analyses required in the generating station, and preparation of reports and records regarding those analyses. Responsible for test analysis and reporting related to environmental regulations.
What You Will Do
- Perform lab work, tests and analysis relating to the maintenance and operation of an electric generating station.
- Assists in preparing reports; maintains records, completing paperwork, station statistics and computer entry.
- Prepare and report environmental reports, including State and Federal reports for CEM equipment.
- Operate, calibrate and maintain CEMS equipment.
- Maintain, balance and calibrate test equipment, pressure gauges and other related equipment.
- Handle, unload, and work with chemicals in a safe manner.
- Collect data, complete and generate GADS Reports and other related reports.
- Follow procedures.
- Maintain supplies and order materials.
- Lead and train others in the same or lower classification in safe work practices.
- Conduct coal fitness testing.
- Conduct vibration analysis.
- Maintain and repair instrumentation, testing, and analyzing equipment.
- Handle, unload, and work with chemicals in a safe manner.
- Maintain and repair laboratory facilities, test equipment, water treatment equipment, lab equipment and other related equipment.
- Maintain plant water quality and analysis requirements.
- Maintain and repair laboratory instrumentation, testing, and analyzing equipment.
- Perform various levels of plumbing.
- Perform other duties, which are similar, related or incidental to this position and assist in other activities that do not require skills of a higher classification.
Education Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience
- Completion of the Quality Control Technician Apprenticeship and pass the final position qualification examination.
Other Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to work at high elevations.
- Must be able to follow procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Possess skills in basic mathematics, electricity, chemistry, and can demonstrate the ability to perform work requirements on a computer.
- Interest and aptitude for analytical work.
- Knowledge of plant systems.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
Pay Range
$37.91 - $50.55
