About the role

Grace is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Operations team at our Tyrone, PA manufacturing facility. This role reports to the Quality Manager and exists to analyze raw materials and plant samples on a timely basis and report those results to production. This position also occasionally performs equipment maintenance on analytical instruments. The successful candidate will have good analytical chemistry and math skills and some mechanical aptitude for instrument repair.

The QC Technician will be required to work a rotating shift schedule, and work overtime and holidays as production demands dictate. This position starts at $28.50 with growth opportunities to over $35.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical tests to determine quality, purity, etc.
  • Analyze data obtained from testing and document according to standard policy and procedures.
  • May troubleshoot existing or potential problems with equipment, chemicals, and processes or notify the proper person.
  • Dispose of waste (chemicals and solids) produced in the lab according to policy and procedures and legal regulations.
  • Adhere to all plant policies and rules on safety, fire protection, good housekeeping, operating practices, and personal conduct.
  • Ensure that all equipment is operated safely and that work areas and equipment are kept clean and orderly.

Requirements

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working a rotating shift schedule.
  • Experience with basic lab equipment, such as autotitration instrumentation and gas and liquid chromatography systems.

Pay

Starting hourly wage: $28.50 with growth opportunities to over $35.00 per hour.

Other compensation: Eligibility for the Short-Term Incentive program and other applicable bonuses.
