Duties And Responsibilities
- Interpret prints, and other manufacturing / engineering documentation, as they pertain to all manufacturing processes.
- Inspects and identifies welded parts for spatter, pinholes and undercut.
- Inspects and identifies coated product for film thickness, adhesion, cure, and materials used.
- Able to identify defects of coated parts and document nonconformances.
- Identify all features of a product to a print and document the acceptance or rejection thereof.
- If quality issues are found, returns product to responsible party, and document the nonconformance.
- Train to conduct internal audits of individual processes at random or scheduled intervals to verify conformance with quality standards.
- Possess the ability to read and manipulate a variety of metrology devices such as, but not limited to, tapes, squares, inclinometers, calipers, thread gages, protractors, weld gages, DFT testing equipment and products, dial gages, radius gages, etc.
- Understand and comprehend process procedures.
- Ensure operator and/or fabricator tools are inspected at random or scheduled intervals for calibration identification.
- Train to calibrate basic measuring devices.
- Conducts all duties and responsibilities in a safe and effective manner.
- Ensure process owners are completing and signing off on required documentation as it pertains to their process.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1+ year of professional welding experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read a print and interpret to physical part.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability read blueprints and weld symbols.
- Ability to read metrology tools.
- Ability to contribute to a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess previous experience in a quality control role.
- Must have advanced blueprint reading skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, material lists and inspection standards.
- Working knowledge AISC and AWS D1.1 code requirements for welding, inspection and testing preferred.
- CWI/CAWI preferred.
