Quality Control Technician (2nd Shift)

Responsibilities

• Perform audits at various stages of the distribution process to identify and correct errors.
• Use electronic scanning devices to audit inventory and track movement of products.
• Scan and verify accuracy of item, quantity, and destination of product being loaded against invoice.
• Document and report errors.
• Read and understand Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents to ensure proper Inbound and Outbound warehouse process.
• Understand product weights and types to maintain quality and avoid damage and spoilage of products.
• Provide immediate feedback to help improve the overall quality standards of the department.
• Report quality numbers on a daily basis with quality improvement recommendations.
• Lift up to 50 pounds while performing audits and use foot to operate a machine to lift heavier products.
• Use warehouse management software (WMS) to assist with locating orders and products within the warehouse.
• Follow all safety procedures and rules established in the facility.
• Wear proper PPE.
• Keep all work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Notify supervisor of any safety hazards or damaged products.
• Actively participate in all safety and other training programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months of warehouse distribution center experience.
• Understanding of distribution center operations, inspection, quality control/testing, product specifications, and willingness to be cross-trained in all areas.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, training audits, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to become equipment certified.
• Proficiency in basic math.
