About the role
This role is an Intermediate-level Microbiology Lab Quality Control Technician position. It involves performing bacterial retention testing on biopharmaceutical filtration membranes and devices, with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Test products safely and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Quality and Safety Specifications and GMP standards.
- Safely set up and operate quality lab test equipment and monitor required inputs and outputs.
- Support quality lab operations and projects under the supervision of senior technicians.
- Accurately complete documentation per GMP standards.
- Initiate and participate in Out of Specification (OOS) investigations.
- Absorb and develop skills to independently perform Bacterial Retention Testing.
- Proactively identify safety, quality, and productivity concerns.
- Actively report hazardous conditions or hazardous behaviors observed in the work center and the site.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and setup, review and verify test data with accurate LIMS entry, maintain a clean workspace, support sustainability efforts, and work under close supervision.
Requirements
- Basic level of knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System.
- Exposure to machinery and equipment, chemical reagents, biological materials at Biosafety Levels 1 and 2, in a laboratory environment.
- 100% standing and/or sitting for duration of shift, up to 12 hours.
- Frequent lifting of 20 - 30 lbs. necessary/Max lifting 40 to 50 lbs.
- Bend and twist as needed.
- Grasp, manipulate and handle objects consistently and regularly, fine motor skills are required.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of laboratory or cGMP manufacturing experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate’s degree in science discipline preferred.
- 2+ years of laboratory or cGMP manufacturing experience preferred.
- Aseptic laboratory experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of EHS, ISO, cGMP, and other manufacturing regulatory requirements preferred.
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Read, follow and understand test methods, operating procedures, and related documentation.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Ability to perform bacterial retention testing.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $19 - $38 per hour. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
Schedule
Second shift position, 4:30 PM - 12:30 AM.
