About the role

The Slitting Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, running, and monitoring the slitting machines to ensure efficient production of quality products. They also assist in the training and supervision of new operator trainees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform set-up, running, and troubleshooting of slitting machines.
  • Make quality judgments based on defects in finished goods materials.
  • Prepare and maintain slitting documents, core-tags, box labels, and quality documents.
  • Pack and move materials as needed.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of less experienced operators.
  • Occasionally perform lead operator responsibilities.
  • Inform the relieving shift and department superiors about machine and production status.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and report any deviations.
  • Provide suggestions and feedback to Slitting supervisors on department problems and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of math related to company processes and procedures.
  • Strong mechanical ability, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail in slitting procedures.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills related to slitting procedures and company processes.
  • High school graduate, with one or two years of college or four-year military service preferred.

Qualifications

  • Beginning knowledge of other department’s procedures as it relates to film construction, winding techniques, shipping procedures, and metallizing process.

Pay

$18.00 to $28.00 per hour, with a total annual target cash range of $41,100 to $64,000, including bonuses.
