Quality Control Representative
Position Overview
Yearout Mechanical, a Legence Company, is seeking an experienced HVAC Ductwork, HVAC Piping & Plumbing Quality Control Representative to support mechanical construction projects. This role ensures HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related mechanical systems are installed in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans.
Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and contract documents to identify quality requirements.
Conduct field inspections of HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping, plumbing systems, equipment installations, supports, seismic bracing, firestopping, and related mechanical work.
Verify compliance with project specifications, approved submittals, manufacturer requirements, company standards, and applicable codes.
Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Coordinate and witness testing and commissioning activities, including pressure testing, duct leakage testing, TAB, start-up, and functional performance testing.
Maintain inspection logs, testing records, deficiency logs, and daily quality reports.
Document findings through written reports and photographs.
Support project closeout activities and turnover documentation.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, Owners, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and Commissioning Agents.
Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BIM models, submittals, RFIs, and as-built documentation.
Participate in coordination meetings and support resolution of quality concerns throughout project execution.
Identify recurring quality issues and recommend process improvements.
Support development of company quality standards and installation best practices.
Aid in quality training and mentoring of field personnel.
Desired Skills And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification preferred.
7+ years of commercial or industrial mechanical construction experience.
3+ years in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or field leadership role.
Experience with healthcare, laboratory, industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, or similar complex facilities preferred.
Strong Understanding Of HVAC systems and air distribution
Mechanical piping systems
Plumbing systems
Equipment installation and commissioning
Construction drawings and specifications
Industry codes and standards, including IMC, IPC, IBC, SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA, and OSHA requirements
Experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/BIM 360, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Teams.

Additional Notes
This position requires frequent work on active construction sites and the ability to walk sites, climb ladders, work in varying weather conditions, and wear required PPE. Success measures include first-time inspection pass rates, reduced punch list and rework items, quality documentation accuracy, successful testing and commissioning outcomes, customer satisfaction, on-time project turnover, and compliance with project quality requirements.
