Position Overview

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned products or components.
  • Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Review all purchased products or components and provide input on the decision of whether the product has been vetted by organization for future purchases from the vendor.
  • Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies, codes, and procedures.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management.
  • Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of codes and specifications for current industry quality standards.
  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Prepare and present technical information and reports to team members and management.
  • Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in Quality Control with a minimum of 3 years focused on ASME B31 piping codes, industrial and commercial construction, fabrication, welding, non-destructive testing, and/or other similar fields.
  • Current certification in accordance with AWS QC-1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and/or ICC Mechanical – Commercial Certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Required Work Hours

Monday through Friday, first shift.

Additional Details

The hourly pay range for this position is $47-$54/hr.
