ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspections and measurements. Prepares and files receiving inspection documentation. Rejects unacceptable materials.
- Approves in-progress production by performing visual inspections and measurements. Rejects unacceptable work and informs Production Supervisor or Crew Leader of required rework actions.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications, performing visual inspections and measurements. Rejects unacceptable products. Confirms rework actions.
- Determines and documents inspection results by written or electronic means.
- Selects proper tools for product and material measurement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Exhibits behavior conducive to personal and professional development.
- Proficient in basic arithmetic, written and verbal expression.
- Ability to determine tolerances expressed in fraction and decimal form and calculate conversions from fraction to decimal and decimal to fraction.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions such as procedure documents, drawings and specifications.
- Ability to receive and carry out instructions provided in written, oral and diagram form.
