Overview

We are seeking a motivated Quality Control Inspector – Mechanical/Piping to contribute to our mission supporting our work at UCOR in Oak Ridge, TN.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Verify that structures, systems, and components conform to predetermined requirements (e.g., codes, standards, specifications, regulatory, and contractual requirements).
- Identify, document, and disposition non-conforming conditions in accordance with established processes/procedures.
- Perform field inspections at various project locations by examining equipment and material for required characteristics (e.g., dimensional inspection, materials of construction) specified in the inspection plans and procurement documents.
- Document inspections using the Inspection Report Template.
- Report programmatic deficiencies as Conditions Adverse to Quality (CAQ), as appropriate.
- Be familiar with the scope and limitations of each discipline for which the individual is certified.
- Interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, drawings, and specifications.
Education and Licensure
- A high school or GED diploma with three (3) years related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities;
- An associate’s degree in a related discipline plus one (1) year of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities;
- A bachelor’s degree plus six (6) months of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities.
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance.
- Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications and Location Details
- Five (5) years prior experience related to mechanical/piping inspection or certification as a Level II or III Quality Control Inspector is preferred.
- Prior experience working within a NQA-1 quality program.
- Onsite position in Oak Ridge 4/10 schedule.
