Position Description
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing the final inspection of optics using visual, dimensional, and specialized optical measurement equipment.Qualifications
- Education/Certifications: High School diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years' experience preferred.
- Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Basic math skills to include decimals, unit conversions (standard/metric).
- Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Essential Functions
- Perform receiving, in-process and final inspection of optics using the following instruments along with the unaided eye: scratch-dig paddle, automated surface quality inspection scopes, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measurement machine & specialized optical measurement tools.
- Specialized cleaning of optics using manual methods as well as operation of ultrasonic cleaning equipment to facilitate inspection processes as described above.
- Segregate and control discrepant material.
- Generate, approve, and store quality documents such as inspection reports, certificates of compliance, interferograms and customer specified documentation.
- Cleaning of assigned work area, and additional duties as delegated by management including but not limited to specialized processing methods for finished optics, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned and needed.
