Quality Control Inspector

About the role

Murphy Company is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for a project site in the Boulder, CO area. This prospective individual will work with the fabrication shop and project field teams to ensure quality expectations are met and ASME code requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Perform job walks pre, during, and post completion, including:
• Weld inspection in the field and shop
• Weld tracking
• Welder qualifications and associated documentation
• NDT coordination and interfacing with third-party inspectors
• Interfacing with client QAQC representatives and inspectors
• Generate and distribute weekly QAQC reports
• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and assembling documentation for ASME Code repairs and alterations.
• Select welding procedures
• Verify welder qualifications
• Prepare material requisitions
• Receive materials and verify material documentation
• Verify fabrication criteria
• Perform dimension checks
• Witness testing
• Verify that the TOP is complete and accurate
• Train new project members in site-specific SOPs

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a technical field or completion of a Journeyman Program
• 5 years of experience inspecting welds associated with ASME BPE, B31.1, B31.3, or other recognized piping codes
• Experience maintaining weld tracking programs
• Working knowledge of NDT techniques
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel to multiple jobsites daily
• Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certificate (preferred)
• Experience with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 pressure vessels (preferred)

• Ability to diagnose fabrication issues and take appropriate action

Pay

$75,000 - $85,000 per year
