Responsibilities

  • Perform diversified inspection duties on raw materials, in-process parts, and finished product for quality, appearance, and performance.
  • Follow inspection procedures using charts, tables, formulas, prints, parts and product data, and specifications.
  • Inspect incoming materials, first piece samples, and final products according to specifications.
  • Stop production in case of excessive defects.
  • Set up and operate standard gauging, measuring, and testing devices, including hardness testers, tensile strength testers, and vibration/endurance testing equipment.
  • Record and summarize inspection and testing results for evaluation.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, and fixed gauges.
  • Improvise standard inspection methods as directed for special projects or new product variations.
  • Segregate and mark rejected items.
  • Handle materials, maintain equipment, and report faulty operations or defective materials.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, follow safety regulations, and care for measuring instruments.
  • Perform other similar and associated duties as required or directed.
