Quality Control Engineer
Duties/Responsibilities
- Implement methods to inspect, test, and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes and products.
- Provide detailed in-process and final inspections on components and materials.
- Use detailed drawings, CAD models, and established processes to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed for the receiving, production, and storage of all items and materials.
- Report all non-conformance (NC) by means of defined company procedures, to the production planning office, the purchasing department, and engineering.
- Implement authorization for use of NC items under approved exception.
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment or Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
- Perform inspections across all stages of production.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Ensures products adhere to company standards.
- Communicate and collaborate with customers.
- Utilize 3D scanning technology to ensure optimal and safe performance for race cars.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Team Oriented
- Strong communication skills; able to effectively communicate with engineering and production groups
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities and tasks as delegated
- Verbal and written communication proficiency
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Familiar with Geometrical Dimensional Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficient in use of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc)
- Knowledge of Creaform, a plus
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Certain physical demands apply to this position. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch. Constant standing throughout the shift is required.
Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel may be required depending on the project
Preferred Education and Experience
- Mechanical Engineering or Motorsports Engineering or other similar engineering/technical degree
