About the role
Conducts routine visits and investigates complaints in long-term care facilities, serving as a designated representative under federal and state law.
Responsibilities
- Answers calls, maintains logs, enters complaint data, tracks reports, and conducts assessments and investigations of resident concerns
- Protects confidentiality, reviews documents, writes reports, and identifies systemic issues
- Assists with volunteer paperwork, office supplies, and coordinates meetings
- Acts as primary office contact in the absence of the District Ombudsman Manager and performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong organizational, communication, investigative, and report-writing skills
- Ability to operate office equipment, analyze evidence, handle sensitive information, and make independent decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of investigative techniques and regulations governing ombudsman activities
- Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to travel are mandatory
Additional Requirements
- Must become certified as an Ombudsman
- Pass a Level 2 Background Check
- Adhere to confidentiality protocols
