About the role
We are seeking a QA Technician who enjoys working in both the lab and on the production floor. This role ensures products are manufactured following GMPs, Food Safety/HACCP plans, and quality plans to meet regulatory and GFSI (SQF) standards. You will support manufacturing, help implement positive change, and maintain high-quality production standards.
Success Factors (First 12-18 Months)
- Manufacturing Line Support: Act as a trusted advisor on Quality for the line team. Perform GMP inspections, line checks, and review SOPs to ensure procedures support First Time Quality (FTQ). Develop a deep understanding of processes, roles, and equipment.
- Quality Assurance & Documentation: Inspect packaging and ingredients, assist with the positive release process, and become a product sensory expert. Investigate customer feedback, provide written analysis, and lead the calibration program. Maintain organized documentation and address record anomalies.
- Audit Support: Ensure Torani is always audit-ready by reviewing SOPs, recommending improvements, and training teams on GMPs and food safety. Collaborate with internal and external teams to maintain GFSI (SQF) standards.
- Communication: Share pertinent information verbally and in writing, keeping everyone informed and engaged.
- Safety: Prioritize safety for yourself and team members, report issues promptly, and help implement safety improvements.

Responsibilities
- Conduct daily sensory analysis and quality control checks of finished products for positive release.
- Perform GMP inspections, line checks, and review SOPs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Inspect packaging and ingredients to maintain high-quality standards.
- Investigate customer feedback and provide written analysis of findings.
- Lead the calibration program for measuring equipment.
- Maintain organized documentation and address record anomalies.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with GFSI (SQF) standards.
- Train team members on GMPs and food safety topics.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific discipline (Food, Physical, or Biological Sciences preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Highly organized with acute attention to detail.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work various shifts occasionally, including overtime and weekends.
Qualifications
- PCQI/HACCP certification preferred.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with a large ERP (e.g., Oracle) strongly preferred.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM.
Pay
$26.73 - $29.72 per hour.
