As a Quality Assurance Technician I, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our products meet internal and external quality specifications while supporting Mennel’s food safety programs and commitment to delivering superior quality, uniformity, and service.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine testing and accurately analyze samples for internal and external customers.
- Report testing results and promptly communicate quality, safety, and security concerns to the appropriate team members and Quality Assurance Manager.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot testing equipment while maintaining accurate calibration logs.
- Perform monthly intra-laboratory check samples to support testing accuracy and consistency.
- Follow all food safety and personal safety requirements, including GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, GFSI, and FDA Food Safety Modernization Act standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work area while completing assigned sanitation duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s Degree in cereal science, food science, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, analytical instrumentation, microbiology, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
- Ability to learn and perform routine laboratory testing and accurately document results.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet, and company software systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and adapt to changing work duties and priorities.
