Quality Assurance Technician - Day Shift

About the role
The Intermediate Quality Assurance Technician 1 is expected to guarantee all food safety requirements are met through communicating with Operations to ensure a safe wholesome product is made and meets specifications. This is accomplished by conforming to all standards within the Nutra Blend Quality Management Systems (EQMS/SQF).
Responsibilities
- Perform various analyses, sample collection, and record keeping
- Assist Quality Manager with audits
- Help train on procedures
- Assist with timely close out of internal issues
- Provide feedback and reports to users and stakeholders
- Prepare and monitor quality statistics and reports
- Review production records for conformance to procedures
- Evaluate non-conforming results and initiate re-sampling, re-testing, and/or hold procedures
- Continually review procedures relevant to facility and offer suggestions for improvement
- Conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates degree or 3+ years of applicable experience (food safety, quality, or food manufacturing experience preferred)
- Strong computer skills in the application of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be 18 years old
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions
- Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Show up on time, reliably completing tasks by the deadline, adapt to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision
- Maintain good relationships with plant personnel contacts to meet team goals and adjusting to important changes
- Ensure the complete physical safety of oneself and one’s co-workers without exception
Physical Requirements
- Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
- Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
- Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm. Weekends, overtime and holidays as needed.
Pay
$20 - $22 per hour depending on experience.
