About the Role
Inspects incoming materials, molded and assembled parts, and packaging for conformance to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Inspects molded parts for cycle time, physical defects, and critical measurements.
- Performs functional leak, fit, and other tests.
- Verifies product complies with established quality standards.
- Releases molds that comply with quality specifications.
- Rejects defective material and marks the type of defect on inspection tags.
- Inspects all labels for proper information and identification.
- Inspects assembled parts and packaged units to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Verifies the integrity of assembly—pull test, proper fitting—on assembled parts and the correct combination of components.
- Inspects packaging to ensure appropriate material, printed information, process, and production records.
- Implements corrective actions.
- Documents all decisions, releases, incidents, and re-work, then submits to the Quality Control Department.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area, wears required safety equipment, and observes all safety rules.
- Familiarizes with safety equipment, fire exits, emergency procedures, and fire extinguishers.
- Reports unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor.
- Responsible for food safety, food quality, and site safety.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 10 education, related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures, production processes, related equipment, testing techniques, and regulatory policies.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
- Ability to write reports, quality control inspection reports, and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and customers.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand for extended periods.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
Work Environment
- May be exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
