Work Location: Itasca Position requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs. THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION: CORE HOURS ARE M-F, 3:00PM-11:00PM, OT/SATS AS NEEDED!!*** The QA Technician’s primary responsibilities will include raw material and packaging inspections, monitoring of in-process inspections and finished goods documentation review. Responsibilities will also include maintaining logs and data records associated with job function (e.g. non-conforming materials, corrective action log, hold logs, net content files, etc.) Ways you will make a difference Execute required tests on incoming ingredients and packaging according to Quality Monitor Scheme (QMS)Perform verification on finished goods documentation to ensure that each finish good lot meets positive release criteriaSupport training for line operators to ensure process checks are accurate and timely as stated in QMSRetain finished good samples and set up sensory panel dailyHold “Out of Specification” materialCommunicate with SupervisorsUtilize ASI to obtain net content information to release finished goods as well as assist operators with the use of ASI StationsCalibrate lab equipment including PH meter, moisture analyzers, refractometer, scales, etc. according to Internal Control Plan (ICP)Audit GMPs, throughout the plant and follow safety rules and proceduresOther duties as assigned by SupervisorOvertime and/or cover shifts as required Skills that will make you successful Maintains a clean and neat work area Ability to work overtime as neededMust have knowledge of operating basic laboratory equipmentPromotes teamwork, possess a good attitude, and exhibit flexibility and willingness to perform tasks as neededSpreadsheet and database Knowledge (excel and access)Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety, quality and other relevant requirementsEnsures compliance with BRC, SQF, and other relevant standards Experiences that will support your success Required knowledge of food processing and food safety; food or pharmaceutical industry experience; 1 – 3 years minimum in food or pharmaceutical industries in QA/QC Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suiteAbility to speak, write and read English What We Offer At Ferrara, we're proud to support our employees with comprehensive benefits that enhance health, financial wellness, and include paid time off (PTO).
