About the role
As a Quality Assurance Supervisor Trainee, you will support the plant operations department in the area of Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Your responsibilities include leading, influencing, and motivating staff, overseeing quality assurance and quality control systems, communicating with various departments, and performing miscellaneous duties.
Responsibilities
- Support the plant operations department in Quality Assurance and Quality Control
- Understand and apply regulatory, customer, and internal Saputo quality requirements
- Evaluate production/packaging processes and determine efficient methods
- Oversee Quality Assurance systems including process evaluation, product protection programs, sanitation programs, HACCP, GMP programs, production labeling, and product storage/distribution
- Oversee Quality Control systems including hold programs, mock recalls, lab procedures, product functionality evaluations, process verification programs, internal and external audits, and environmental microbiological monitoring programs
- Communicate and interact effectively with lab personnel, all departments, sister plants, and all levels of management
- Perform miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate and necessary
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field (preferred), or having equivalent experience
- The ability to evaluate production/packaging processes and determine the most efficient method of accomplishing goals
- The ability to lead, influence, and motivate people
- The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- A working knowledge of computer programs (i.e., Excel, Word, etc.)
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task, can work independently, and as part of a team
- Demonstrate professionalism and positively represent Saputo at all times
- Able to work scheduled hours and required overtime as needed
- Display traits of reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality
- Communicate effectively and efficiently
Qualifications
- Best suited for individuals pursuing a bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field (preferred), or those with equivalent experience
