About the role

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all assigned areas of the site Quality Management System (QMS) consistently meet established requirements. This role plays a critical part in the success of our QMS and requires a hands-on approach, working closely with cross-functional teams to manage key programs and drive continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop Quality team personnel, including hiring, oversight, guidance, and development support.
  • Support development of goals for direct reports and provide routine feedback through formal and informal channels.
  • Assign daily and long-term job functions and projects to team members.
  • Ensure daily records are complete, accurate, and approved for finished product positive release.
  • Track error rates, assist cross-functional teams with root cause analysis, and identify/implement process improvements.
  • Manage the site document control program to ensure active documents (SOPs, JWIs, OLPs, etc.) are current and accessible.
  • Monitor production areas for obsolete documentation.
  • Support communication of packaging defects to vendors, Shift Managers, and Operators, ensuring corrective action follow-up.
  • May include coordination with corporate teams.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination of raw material and finished product holds, including network hold alerts.
  • Create and manage rework/reinspection protocols, including supervision, tracking, and training.
  • Support the Quality Manager with audit scheduling and cross-functional team readiness.
  • Ensure routine and specialized line audits and inspection activities are completed and documented correctly.
  • Provide training support, maintain sample standards, and assist with test equipment.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with QMR report preparation, meeting coordination, record keeping, and CAPA follow-up.
  • Provide general project support and department backup as assigned.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Pest Control program.
  • Compile data for weekly, monthly, and KPI reports for the plant Management team.
  • Assist the plant Quality Engineer with data gathering and statistical and capability analyses as needed.
  • Review PTR documents with Corporate R&D and plant personnel prior to execution.
  • Cook up PTRs for new products or product changes (e.g., batch recipes, corrugate, bottles).
  • Lead the site Change Control program and ensure timely communication and execution of Quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with all plant departments to ensure timely disposition or rework of finished goods.
  • Ensure all quarantined or non-conforming product is properly labeled and contained through final disposition.
  • Coordinate concession report creation and routing with site teams, R&D, Corporate Quality, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure release criteria are executed successfully.
  • Partner with the site QE to ensure all TT documentation is complete and properly reviewed/approved.
  • Ensure the Quality team adheres to safe chemical handling practices and proper PPE usage.
  • Set a positive example for peers and team members.
  • Serve as backup to the Quality Manager when needed.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee administration of the Agile system.
  • Review and approve ordering of supplies and services.
  • Review monthly budget for spending.
  • Participate in and support Lean activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, or a related field.
  • Five years of related quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience, or at least three years of experience leading projects and/or coordinating the work of others.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Able to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
  • Able to work under pressure for extended periods while maintaining results.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with CI/LEAN programs preferred.
  • Able to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, coaching, and mentoring skills.

Pay

$106,400 – $159,500

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
