Quality Assurance Supervisor (Northland)
Green Bay Dressed Beef Processing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for our Northland plant.
About the role
As a Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will update, maintain, and implement pertinent regulatory documents and records, product specifications, quality assurance records, and quality assurance personnel records/files. You will enforce and monitor quality programs for product manufactured at American Foods Group, help establish and monitor acceptance criteria, and control the disposition of nonconformance. You will ensure all products produced meet or exceed customer requirements for quality and confer with management, customers, and other representatives to plan, schedule, coordinate, and enforce the quality assurance program.
Responsibilities
- Update, maintain, and implement regulatory documents and records, product specifications, and quality assurance records
- Enforce and monitor quality programs for product manufactured at American Foods Group
- Establish and monitor acceptance criteria for products and control disposition of nonconformance
- Assure all products meet or exceed customer requirements for quality
- Confer with management, customers, and other representatives to plan, schedule, coordinate, and enforce the quality assurance program
- Analyze and interpret quality data and submit results to designated personnel
- Provide leadership for the Quality Assurance department
- Prepare, conduct, and follow up on internal and external audits
- Work with government agencies and auditors
- Responsible for crewing, scheduling, and training of Quality Assurance employees
- Participate in plant management and operational meetings
- Conduct line meetings with quality assurance personnel
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Bachelor of Science in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, Animal Science, or other biological sciences preferred (other degrees will be considered)
- 5 years of experience in the meat industry at a supervisory level, with a minimum of 3 years in ground beef processing
- HACCP certified with excellent understanding of HACCP, GMP, and SSOP
- Proficiency in universal computer software
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of statistical software and AS400 inventory system
- Strong background in inspection and auditing activities
Skills
- Excellent working knowledge of regulatory requirements for meat and poultry products
- Practical knowledge of labeling laws and nutritional requirements for beef and beef products
- Detailed knowledge of plant sanitation practices
- Strong knowledge of ground beef production, case-ready, and specialty operations
- Working knowledge of microbiology, aseptic sampling techniques, sampling plans, and laboratory practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, people skills, and leadership ability
