Position Summary

The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor plans and directs activities related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products. This role supports food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring products meet customer and company requirements.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of products and processes.

  • Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment, testing equipment, measurement devices, and analytical instruments.

  • Develop and implement procedures for the disposition of non-conforming materials and products.

  • Maintain the Material Review Area and ensure timely disposition of products.

  • Direct and supervise employees responsible for product inspection, testing, measurement, and quality data collection.

  • Assist the FSQA Manager with the maintenance, distribution, and calibration of measuring and testing equipment.

  • Analyze quality and production issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to working conditions, processes, and equipment to improve safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

  • Resolve work-related issues and provide guidance to team members.

  • Motivate, coach, and develop employees to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and timekeeping records.

  • Coincide with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and other departments to support business objectives.

  • Partner with internal trainers and department leaders to develop and implement food safety, quality, and operational training programs.

  • Report safety incidents occurring within the area of responsibility.

  • Promote safe work practices and foster a culture of safety throughout the facility.

  • Ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA, customer, and company food safety requirements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety, quality, and operational performance.

  • Maintain compliance with all hygiene, environmental, health, and safety requirements.

  • Ensure hygiene standards are maintained in accordance with regulatory, customer, and company requirements.
