Quality Assurance Supervisor

About the role

White Castle’s Vandalia Plant is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to assist and support the Quality Manager in various Quality areas. This role monitors raw materials before, during, and after production to ensure finished products meet White Castle USDA and FDA specifications. The position maintains and improves the Quality Control Program, provides guidance and training to Team Members on quality, food safety, HACCP, Food Defense, SQF, and GMP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Selection, supervision, training, and guidance of Quality Team Members
• Coordination, development, and supervision of policies and procedures relating to food safety and quality, including GMP’s, HACCP, SSOP’s, SQF, and other programs
• Perform pre-operational and operational facility inspections to identify problems and offer practical solutions
• Perform raw material and finished product inspections and analyses; train Quality Team Members to perform these functions
• Maintain and procure inventory of quality, sanitation, safety, and production supplies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or related field with general knowledge of statistical process control, bacterial control, and sanitation methods
• Excellent management and human relations skills
• Three to five years’ experience in production methods and root cause analysis preferred
• Strong knowledge and experience with SQF, FDA, and USDA Regulations and Directives, HACCP, SOP’s, and GMP’s
• Self-starter able to anticipate work requirements
• Flexible to change schedule and hours of work to meet plant needs
• Ability to be on feet for extended periods and lift, push, or pull 75 pounds regularly
