Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with quality technicians, production supervisors, and maintenance teams to ensure products meet established quality standards and processes.
  • Monitor manufacturing lines, production areas, and mixing operations through routine observations and quality control checks.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floors.
  • Conduct and coordinate training for new employees.
  • Verify completion and proper documentation of daily pre-operational inspections and HACCP checks.
  • Represent Quality Assurance in daily production meetings and first-batch reviews for new products and process changes.
  • Maintain and track laboratory schedules, including daily and monthly tasks.
  • Provide coverage for QA technicians during absences, breaks, or vacations.
  • Manage laboratory communications, including handling incoming requests.
  • Assign and monitor daily responsibilities for lab technicians based on shift schedules.
  • Communicate daily expectations across receiving, production, and shipping departments.
  • Ensure all microbiological testing is completed and submitted to their party labs on time.
  • Oversee new product processes, including receiving, documentation, certificate of analysis (COA), creation, testing releases, and coordination with shipping.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry for all lab testing results.
  • Manage laboratory supply inventory and ordering.
  • Support label verification and approval processes.
  • Investigate and resolve out of specification results.
  • Oversee daily operations of the QA laboratory.
  • Support regulatory inspections and special production runs.
  • Lead QA daily stand-up meetings.
  • Assist with warehouse transfers and shelf-life extension evaluations.
  • Investigate customer complaints and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Auxiliary with third-party audits.
  • Cook up lab maintenance and create work orders as needed.
  • Report issues to QA leadership.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in a quality leadership or supervisory role within food manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience with strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes, methods, and equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$60,000 - $85,000
