About the Opportunity

The Quality Assurance Specialist role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of medical evidence used in veterans' disability claims. The position ensures that Disability Benefit Questionnaires are thoroughly reviewed and aligned with the VA's Rating Schedule criteria. This role contributes to the organization's mission by verifying medical documents, supporting veterans' claims, and upholding quality standards within the review process.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update finalized DBQs to confirm completeness and accuracy of vital information.
  • Understand and apply the VA’s Rating Schedule to evaluate disability rating requirements.
  • Verify DBQs meet projection criteria in accordance with VA standards.
  • Ensure veteran files are complete and approved DBQs are properly sent.
  • Address questions from staff, providers, and veterans regarding DBQ content and file status.
  • Maintain consistent, productive review of quality content.
  • Work independently with support from a remote team.
  • Keep accurate daily productivity logs.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with veterans, providers, and staff.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions effectively.

Requirements

  • Strong focus and ability to review extensive medical documents daily.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with ability to self-learn using available guides.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort using multiple computer programs simultaneously, including CRM, Monday.com, Salesforce, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, and cloud-based file sharing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in downloading and uploading files and using technology systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred familiarity with the VA’s Rating Schedule and veteran disability claims.
  • Administrative experience in the medical field is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience manipulating PDF forms with Adobe Acrobat.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

Competitive salary: $27 - $29 per hour, depending on experience.
