Quality Assurance Manager
Role and Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of the facility Quality Management System (QMS) in a greenfield manufacturing startup
Oversee food safety programs including HACCP, GMP, allergen control, and sanitation, ensuring readiness for production ramp-up
Ensure compliance with BRC, SQF, GFSI, FDA regulations, and customer requirements; lead audits and certification efforts
Provide technical expertise in baking science including ingredient functionality, process parameters, moisture control, texture, color, and shelf-life
Partner with Operations, R&D, and Engineering to support equipment startup, plant trials, and scale-up from pilot to commercial production
Investigate quality issues, lead root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, yield, and product consistency
Travel to sister manufacturing sites multiple times per month to support knowledge transfer, process alignment, and best practice implementation
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in food quality, food science, or bakery manufacturing
Experience managing HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems in a BRC, SQF, or GFSI-certified facility
Strong knowledge of commercial baking processes and FDA food safety regulations
Leadership experience managing quality teams in a manufacturing environment
