Quality Assurance Linux Administrator Skill Level 1

About the role

The Quality Assurance Linux Administrator will support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology systems. Key responsibilities include providing day-to-day operations support, monitoring systems, and resolving issues across various IT environments.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution across client, server, storage, network, and mobile device environments.
• Provide escalation support and communicate system status to agency management and internal customers.
• Configure and manage Linux operating systems, install and load operating system software, maintain system integrity, configure network components, and implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Create and maintain bash shell scripts to support system stability, automation, and deployment repeatability.
• Provide Tier I (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for IT system issues.
• Load operating system software, troubleshoot systems, configure network components, and provide detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers for escalated trouble tickets.

Requirements

• Four (4) years of experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Eight (8) years of system administration experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or eight (8) years of system administration experience, is required.

Skills

Must have the ability to provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems, including ongoing operational support. Must possess the ability to manage daily configuration and operation activities for IT systems while optimizing system operations, resource utilization, and performing system capacity analysis and planning. Must be capable of configuring and managing Linux operating systems, including loading and installing operating system software, maintaining system integrity, and implementing stability improvements. Must have the ability to create and maintain bash shell scripts to support system stability, automation, and deployment repeatability. Must possess the ability to provide Tier I (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for IT system issues. Must be capable of troubleshooting hardware problems and remaining engaged throughout the full resolution process to ensure issues are properly resolved. Must have the ability to load operating system software, troubleshoot systems, configure network components, and provide detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers for escalated trouble tickets.
