About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst / Automation Engineer to provide strategic and technical leadership in testing all aspects of a software solution. In this hybrid role, you will balance deep functional analysis with robust technical automation for a state-of-the-art web-based judicial case management system. You will drive both functional testing and automation infrastructure expansion, working within an established automation framework using the latest Selenium WebDriver to deliver continuous automated testing and reporting throughout the development cycle.

Responsibilities

• Design thorough test cases and translate them into code, integrating directly into a well-established automation framework.
• Perform advanced functional testing, including Black Box, Integration, System, ADA (WCAG), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Develop and execute UI and automated testing strategies, including web service testing (SOAP/REST/JSON).
• Balance hands-on functional testing with automated UI testing within a single project cycle.
• Create advanced test case designs, requirements traceability matrices, and translate complex business rules into structured test scenarios.
• Build and maintain POM-based automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and C#/Java.
• Write SQL queries for data verification and back-end testing.
• Utilize relative XPath language/expressions and object-oriented design principles.
• Use Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git, and Visual Studio 2022 or above for source control and collaboration.
• Act as both the analytical gatekeeper of business logic and the technical automation developer on projects.
• Work efficiently with minimal supervision as a highly motivated self-starter.
• Create comprehensive test plans and articulate successful measures for evaluating software.
• Perform dual-role execution: hands-on functional testing, black box testing, and manual exploratory testing while simultaneously writing and maintaining automated UI scripts.
• Leverage AI-driven testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Modern Requirements, Copilot for DevOps) to accelerate test scenario development, documentation, and automated script execution.
• Translate complex business and functional requirements into structured, reusable test cases in Azure DevOps, maintaining a rigorous regression suite.
• Utilize Selenium WebDriver and/or Playwright to create, execute, and maintain smoke and regression tests.
• Articulate defects with concise, technical steps to enable rapid reproduction by development teams.
• Interpret daily automated test reports to isolate application defects versus script maintenance issues.
• Collaborate with developers, fellow testers, and business stakeholders to ensure complete test coverage (positive/negative, cross-browser, integration) and meet strict sprint deadlines.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in functional testing.
• 5 years of experience in automated testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field OR five (5) years of combined experience in both software functional analysis/testing and test automation engineering.

Schedule

• Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• Unpaid lunch break: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
• Start time: 8:00 AM

Assignment duration is approximately 6 months, with potential for hire. Background check and fingerprinting will be conducted.
