Responsibilities

  • Establish a process for the application of Quality Assurance Engineering expertise and methodologies for the New Product Introduction (NPI) DP Process of Quality Components including: Product Readiness Reviews (details)
  • Development of Control Plans for new product
  • Generation of Manufacturing Check Samples (MCS)
  • Closure of MCS findings
  • Provide official hand-off to QC Team for execution
  • Responsible for the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the process
  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance system improvement objectives which complement corporate policies and goals and incorporates these goals and objectives into the expectations for the Quality functions at each manufacturing location
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of management team
  • Collaborates with engineering managers to ensure new products meet quality standards in accordance with the NPI (New Product Introduction) and development process and to identify and correct design problems on existing products
  • Supports the development and initiation of standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation
  • Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market conditions
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and corrective actions
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team
  • Develops initial and subsequent modifications to the quality improvement program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within program
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team
  • Reviews data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
  • Reviews technical problems and procedures and recommends solutions or revisions
  • Conducts management meetings with Quality Assurance Managers to establish, delineate, and review program policies, coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards. Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 8 to 10 years of related experience including product development, manufacturing engineering and Operations
  • Track record of successful project management and team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of quality and design engineering, DFMEA & PFMEA application, manufacturing, specifications, testing and inspections
  • Ability to travel to Daikin’s key sites throughout the U.S & Mexico. Some overseas travel may be required
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years with relevant NPI experience, with at least 5 years in each of two of the following: Manufacturing Operations, Product Development, Quality OR previous experience as a NPI/NPD Product Quality Assurance Engineer Quality Engineer
  • Certificate from American Society for Quality
  • Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM), & Lean

Pay

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,800 to $166,700 +15% bonus in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
