Quality Assurance Furniture Technician

Williams-Sonoma Distribution Center in Tracy, CA is part of a dynamic, fast-paced supply-chain network that connects factories to retail, online, and mail-order customers worldwide. The company operates over 14.5 million square feet of distribution and manufacturing space across the U.S., including large-package furniture hubs, small-parcel eCommerce centers, and upholstery factories.

About the role

As a Quality Assurance Furniture Technician, you will perform wood and upholstery repairs to ensure products meet vendor specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform wood and upholstery repairs including burn-ins, wood raining, and clear finish
• Repair top surfaces larger than ½ inch
• Color-match top surfaces
• Apply sealers and top coats properly
• Polish top coat to vendor specifications
• Perform burn-ins and rub-outs for cross-grain scratches
• Apply finishes using a spray gun

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in upholstery and wood repairs, including burn-ins
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
• Ability to multi-task with excellent attention to detail
• Self-motivating, able to work independently and collaboratively
• Dependable and deadline-oriented with the ability to perform under pressure
• Excellent attendance and communication skills
• Willingness to be part of a team and perform necessary duties
• Must pass a furniture repair skill assessment as part of the interview process

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with painting, wood assembly, wood repair, or similar craftsmanship
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
• Ability to work under pressure and learn quickly
• Availability to work a full-time schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to participate in team-based environments

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move, lift, or carry heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable walking and standing 90% of the day
