Quality Technician
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a high-performance cross-functional team performing routine medical device particulate testing. The role requires ensuring the delivery of the highest quality results to the customer, demonstrating excellent documentation practices, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine testing assignments requiring basic interpretation of established procedures.
- Gather and record data, analyze results, and verify and report test results.
- Exercise broad judgment in troubleshooting.
- Create and maintain data files and forms.
- Communicate effectively with a wide variety of personnel both inside and outside the plant.
- Identify areas for improvement and participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Utilize documentation systems to research information and generate Change Requests.
- Assist in developing and qualifying data sheets, equipment/fixtures, visual standards, and test methods.
- Initiate, investigate, and assist in generation and completion of DDAs.
- Assist with product failure analysis and communicate testing results to teams.
- Support engineers in failure analysis and CAPA activities, including serving as a CAPA project member.
- Support process and product qualification activities and serve in support roles during external audits.
- Perform special quality initiatives with guidance.
- Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with documented quality processes and procedures.
- Employ basic analytical lab skills, such as reading a meniscus, pipetting, using a balance, and using a stir plate.
Requirements
- AA Degree or equivalent work experience in a related discipline and 3+ years of related experience.
- Prior experience in a lab environment, including analytical laboratory skills (weighing, pipetting, scientific method).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours.
Skills
- Analytical testing and pipetting.
- Proficiency in scientific methods and use of calipers.
- Experience with DV test protocol training and execution.
- Strong problem-solving skills and quick learning ability.
- Willingness to learn current test processes and procedures in a regulated environment.
- Ability to multitask between projects in different stages of development.
- Experience analyzing and fulfilling documentation requirements.
- Ability to communicate detailed information to project teams.
- Experience working in a team environment with engineers and technicians.
- Prior experience in test documentation through lab notebooks or reports.
- Experience in the medical device industry, preferably testing medical devices.
- Ability to operate and maintain test equipment.
- Experience in Chemistry/Biology.
Work Environment
The position operates on a business 1st shift from 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM. The work environment involves interaction with engineers and technicians and requires maintaining a focus on patient safety and product quality. The role may require standing for long periods and lifting equipment up to 35 lbs.
Schedule
This is a Contract position based out of Maple Grove, MN, operating on a 1st shift schedule (08:00 AM to 04:30 PM).
Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
