About the Role

This position assists the Quality Manager at the plant location. The role requires excellent attendance, superior time management, and strong self-motivation. Candidates must demonstrate outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve practical problems while interpreting verbal and written instructions. The role involves multitasking, handling various challenges, and working in diverse situations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the complaint process for internal and external customers, including entering, tracking, receiving, and resolving complaints or conducting root cause analysis.
  • Perform process audits and data entry.
  • Manage and control documents related to safety, training, and quality.
  • Handle non-conforming supplier defects and returns.
  • Manage sorting, reworks, and weekly KPIs/compliance with Corrective Action Reports (CAR).
  • Responsible for Preventive Action Reports (PAR).
  • Lead the Safety Committee in the Distribution Center (DC).
  • Conduct 7-minute Safety Trainers for all employees in the DC.
  • Complete safety and incident forms.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent; related college degree, technical courses, or associate (two-year) college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, ISO, Six Sigma, OSHA, or safety-related fields is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and listening skills; ability to provide positive and corrective feedback.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret operating instructions, training, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to read a tape measure accurately, calculate percentages, measurements, volume, and rate, and apply high school-level math concepts.
  • Reasoning ability: solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
