Quality Assurance Engineer I

About the role

Support the Quality team in ensuring the quality and reliability of North Atlantic Industries' electronic systems throughout the manufacturing process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues while developing the technical knowledge and problem-solving skills needed to support production yield, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Support failure analysis for supplier-related issues and assist with implementing supplier corrective actions.
  • Conduct investigations on factory non-conformances, perform root cause analysis with guidance, and assist in ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Serve as a Quality representative for production teams by supporting day-to-day product quality activities.
  • Aid in the development, review, and maintenance of quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and quality records.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and assist with the resolution of day-to-day nonconformances.
  • Assist with customer post-delivery issues and support completion of customer RCCA requests.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality data, yield metrics, and defect trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. 0-2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Quality Control, or a related field within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Fundamental knowledge of electronics, mechanical, and manufacturing concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information.
  • Fundamental knowledge of failure analysis and process-oriented thinking.
  • Ability to prioritize work, learn quickly, and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001), workmanship standards, and AS9100 standards.
  • Skills to support data analytics and knowledge of statistical process control are a plus.

Qualifications
