Quality Assurance Engineer

Primary Contact

Primary contact for customer issues. Work with engineering and operations teams to resolve customer quality issues.

Supplier Monitoring

• Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance.
• Communicate with suppliers to ensure that corrective actions are received, and action plans are developed, implemented and maintained.

Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions

• Leads Root cause analysis and implements Corrective and Preventive actions for both internal and external issues.

Quality Checks

• Perform quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to identify non-conforming items and potential defects.

Travel and Audits

• Travel to customer and supplier sites to discuss quality issues and/or conduct onsite audits.

Quality Department Leadership

• In the absence of the Quality Manager, directs and manages Quality Department activities.

APQP and PPAP Preparation

• Participate in APQP meetings.
• Prepares PPAPs for new parts, product or process changes and annual recertifications as required.

Additional Responsibilities

• Supports in developing inspection plans, testing methods, and quality standard for products.
• Affords assistance in the development of control plans, PFMEA's, and checksheets.
• Maintains adherence to relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Reads and interprets mechanical blueprints.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other software packages.
• Participates in and/or conducts Engineering Changes ECN’s.
• Complies with all plant and environmental safety concepts.
• Supports in ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 process, supporting document and overview training.
• Understands the company's Environmental Policy, Quality Policy, and implications of non-compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Organizational Relationships

Reports to the Quality Manager. Interacts regularly with all plant personnel.
