About the Role

The QA Coordinator in the quality department is responsible for conducting a variety of verifications as stated in standard operating procedures to ensure product meets minimum standards. This role involves preparing, reviewing, and distributing Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for finished products, ensuring they meet desired quality standards per third-party laboratory results, customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards. The QA Coordinator works in close communication with the department supervisor and other departments to provide quality feedback. Candidates must have successfully completed a minimum 90-day probation in a Quality Assurance role.

Responsibilities

• Performs work in accordance with all quality systems requirements included in SQF policies and procedures, including Food Safety, Food Defense, HACCP, and GMPs.
• Prepare and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for finished products in a timely manner.
• Verify laboratory results, production records, and product specifications before generating COAs.
• Ensure all COAs accurately reflect product test results and customer-specific requirements.
• Manage Micro Hold and Release program post review of final results from third-party laboratory.
• Review documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to product release.
• Maintain electronic and hard-copy records of COAs and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with Customer Service, Sales, Warehouse, Scalehouse, and Shipping.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to product documentation or laboratory results.
• Update COA templates and product specifications as required.
• Maintain customer-specific documentation requirements.
• Assist with audits and support document control procedures.

Requirements

• Successfully completed a minimum 90-day probation in a Quality Assurance role.
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. and physically present in the U.S.
• Cannot be allergic to fruit.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Work in an environment with medium to loud noise and cold temperatures.
• Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands, fingers, and arms to pull, feel, reach, and handle product/fruit.
• Ability to sit and use a computer to produce reports and document findings.
• Spend most of the day standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
• Ability to taste and smell is required.
• Ability to talk or hear instructions over machinery, equipment, and other processing equipment.
• Fast-paced environment requiring high attention to detail and minimal downtime.
• Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as buckets of fruit, boxes, pails, etc. (up to 40 lbs independently).
• Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team and deadlines.
• Specific vision abilities required: peripheral vision, ability to see all colors, adjust focus, and recognize color.
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration.
• Exposure to the smell of cleaning products and agents for sanitation of equipment and machinery regularly.
• Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to the dress code for working in a food manufacturing facility.
