About the role

The Quality Assurance and Process Improvement (QAPI) team serves as the primary point of contact for clinical documentation and compliance at LifeWorks NW. The QAPI team is responsible for addressing questions and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers staff training on Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT), the ORS/SRS tool, chart audits, HIPAA and CFR 42 Part 2 regulations, Medicaid/Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse, and other topics in response to staff need.
  • Conducts research, conducts reviews/investigations, and writes recommendations regarding quality complaints, compliance issues, and HIPAA violations.
  • Drafts and updates policies and procedures pertinent to the Quality Assurance and Process Improvement program.
  • Executes internal audits.
  • Facilitates the completion of external audits.
  • Affords assistance with or leads quality improvement work utilizing established methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Attends internal and external meetings as required.
  • Assists with the billing department to ensure proper documentation for service delivery.
  • Troubleshoots clinical software issues and reports EHR issues to IT.
  • Participates in professional development activities, maintains professional affiliations, and promotes staff interactions, harmony, and teamwork.
  • Maintains a small caseload in the area of their clinical specialty to stay updated on the evolution of the EMR and changes in clinical practice.

Requirements

  • Master's degree; MHACBO QMHP level of certification.
  • Clinical experience with psychiatric and substance use disorders.
  • Able to write, present, and facilitate trainings that engage participants in a positive learning environment.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA rules and regulations that protect Personal Health Information (PHI and ePHI).
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and co-workers.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • A basic knowledge of Oregon Administrative Rules.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software.
  • Ability to master use of proprietary software including electronic health record.

Qualifications

  • CADC preferred.
  • 1-3 years in similar role/department within the behavioral health field preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR).

Benefits

Annual salary range: $69,869 - $90,411, plus full benefits. Final salary offers are made in alignment with internal compensation processes in accordance with Oregon Pay Equity laws.
