About the role
This role is a great opportunity for someone with electronics manufacturing experience who is ready to grow into a formal leadership position. Whether you have already led a team, mentored coworkers, trained new employees, or served as the “go-to” person on your shift, this position gives you the opportunity to lead from the floor while staying hands-on in the work.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a working lead across quality inspection, assembly, and rework operations — actively participating, not just directing
- Coordinate and prioritize daily workflow for a cross-functional team including Quality Inspectors I–III, Assemblers, WAVE and Selective Solder Machine Operators, and Rework Specialists
- Ensure 100% training compliance for the shift, including: X-ray safety and operation training, IPC-A-610 CIS certification training
- Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and issue resolution support to team members
- Capture, document, and drive resolution of production issues cross-functionally
- Partner with process owners on continuous improvement activities
- Provide performance feedback on team members to the Shift Supervisor
- Champion 6S standards and safety practices across production workspaces
- Cover Shift Supervisor responsibilities as needed in their absence
Requirements
- 1–2 years of electronics manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on training
- Strong working knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards
- Ability to read and interpret quality documentation and written work instructions
- Basic math skills and ability to read performance data
- Strong communication skills — you can coach, document, escalate, and collaborate with equal ease
- Passing scores required on IPC Component Identification and IPC Workmanship Standards courses (in-house training provided)
- IPC-A-610 CIT certification or willingness to obtain (in-house training provided)
Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in an ITAR-controlled facility (U.S. Person status required)
Physical Requirements
- Regular use of hands for precision work
- Frequent standing, sitting, and communication
- Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required
- Work in an electronics manufacturing facility
- Moderate noise level; occasional exposure to moving parts, fumes, or airborne particles
- PPE enforced where required
