Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as engineering and quality leader and technical expert of all engineering and quality disciplines.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of all manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure cohesive environment between engineering and quality teams and manufacturing departments.
  • Support the development and implementation of new equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Resolve issues and answer questions brought forth by engineering and quality team members.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, standard work, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by.
  • Direct, develop, initiate and control standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation that assures the design criteria.
  • Achieve quality operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; completing audits; determining system improvements and implementing change.
  • Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs within the engineering and quality departments.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising engineering and quality staff members.
  • Oversee budgets and timelines for engineering and quality projects.
  • Coordinate process changes within the organization.
  • Support teams on open ECNs, track open ECNs, and confirm accuracy of change control.
  • Spearhead various research and development directives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, vendors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Align resources with production for manufacture of new tools, fixturing and/or modification of existing tools and equipment.
  • Aid in the implementation of new equipment for production.
  • Career Development and Training: Coordinate Engineering and Quality Lean activities, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Technical Sales Experience: Assist with specifying of materials, thermal processing, and component requirements to meet customer expectations.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Must be proficient using computers.
  • Compliance to the Quality Management System, Safety Practices, and Management Operating System documents relative to your department.
  • Support specific objectives and targets that support company goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding requirements for cost targets within your functional areas.
  • Participate in Lean Enterprise/Manufacturing initiatives throughout the organization including but not limited to kaizen, OEE, Kanban, 6 Sigma, etc.
  • In conjunction with management, define training needs and implement necessary actions to optimize employee performance.
  • Oversee and comply with company rules and practices in compliance with the Employee Handbook.
  • Comply with 5S housekeeping practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Responsible for promoting and demonstrating a team philosophy in accomplishing company and personal goals and objectives.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Technical Sales Experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Solid soft skills working with internal and external customers.
