Quality and Continuous Improvement Specialist
The Opportunity
As a Quality and Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will support operational excellence by developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System while leading continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve processes, reduce waste, enhance efficiency, and address quality-related issues through structured problem-solving approaches. The role involves conducting audits, managing corrective and preventive actions, analyzing quality performance data, facilitating root cause investigations, supporting supplier quality activities, and contributing to quality control planning. You will also conduct Project Quality Management activities on assigned execution projects while helping ensure quality requirements are integrated throughout the product lifecycle. Through these activities, you will support the reliability, consistency, and ongoing improvement of products, processes, and operations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with applicable standards and company policies.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping methodologies.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate corrective and preventive action plans with relevant departments.
- Analyze quality data, monitor performance trends, and track the effectiveness of improvement activities.
- Facilitate root cause investigations related to quality issues, customer complaints, and operational inefficiencies.
- Provide training and coaching on quality practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support supplier quality activities, quality control plans, inspection procedures, and Project Quality Management activities on assigned execution projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality assurance or continuous improvement role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 and continuous improvement projects with measurable results.
- Proficiency with Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, data analysis tools, Minitab, and Excel.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
- Fluency in English and French, with willingness to travel a minimum of 25%.
