About the role

As a Quality and Continuous Improvement Engineer, you’ll be part of our onsite team in Marietta, GA. This role provides for the effective control of quality through determination and regulation of product conformance, and the evaluation and improvement of manufacturing and supplier quality performance.

This position offers flexibility with either a 4x10 schedule or an 8x5 schedule with Fridays remote.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain measures of the Plant's quality performance, including quality costs, customer returns, product conformance, and manufacturing/supplier performance.
• Establish quality performance goals, report on them, and take action when goals are exceeded.
• Define and maintain the system, policies, and procedures for quality control in the Plant; conduct audits to ensure adherence.
• Develop product quality and reliability standards, define quality characteristics, control points, and inspection procedures for purchased and manufactured materials.
• Evaluate and control product and process quality through inspection, disposition of nonconforming materials, and corrective actions.
• Support the ISO 9001 certification program, participate in internal audits, and assist with recertification.
• Develop and maintain work instructions per ISO requirements.
• Document floor complaints, issue NCMRs (Non-Conforming Material Reports) and CARs (Corrective Action Requests), and follow up on corrective actions.
• Audit key vendors as necessary.
• Participate in new product development, including attending PLMT (Product Launch Management Team) meetings and researching new processes.
• Collaborate with Value Stream Engineers on Standard Work Development, improvements, and training.
• Develop Cpk and process control plans for new products, including FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documents as required.
• Ensure compliance with all Plant Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and OSHA regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate kaizen events and other lean initiatives such as 5S, one-piece flow, standardized work, and Kanban.
• Perform workplace audits and streamline processes within your area of responsibility using value stream analysis, project management, and data-driven improvements.
• Create work instructions, reports, and presentations using accurate data to drive continuous improvement.
• Recommend department organization, expense, and capital needs; operate within approved budget.

Requirements

• 4-year college degree.
• 3+ years of related Quality experience.
• 1+ years of related Continuous Improvement experience.
• PC knowledge and computer literacy.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments and quality functions, lean manufacturing, and ISO requirements.
• Ability to work independently, assign, and complete tasks without direct supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with inspection procedures.
• Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $62,200.00 - $100,200.00 annually. The salary offered may vary based on job level, geographic location, experience, and compliance with local wage requirements. Eligible candidates may also receive annual merit increases.
