QUALITY ANALYST

About the role

This position will spend 50% of their time conducting and maintaining ISO audits, system audits, maintaining all related documentation and training, etc. And the other 50% of their time performing hands-on inspection of parts that involved welding, fit up, machining, forming, assembly, stamping, powder coat, paint, and electro plating.

The purpose of this role is to continually improve processes to meet company objectives, using ISO 9001 criteria, root cause/corrective action, preventive action, management review, plan-do-check-act cycle (PDCA), basic quality tools, and statistical process control (SPC) to improve products and processes.

Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate must be familiar with ISO 9001 requirements and capable of preparing, performing, and reporting internal audits. They must have excellent written and verbal communication, conflict resolution, time management, and team dynamics skills. They must be capable of using basic quality tools, such as Pareto charts, cause & effect diagrams, flowcharts, SPC, and PDCA. Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean, and 5S is preferred.

• Must understand basic statistics, basic distributions (Normal, binomial, Poisson, and Weibull), and process variation
• Must understand acceptance sampling and be able to correctly use ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 (MIL-STD-105E) or equivalent for attributes sampling
• Must be able to manage or assess processes for document control, configuration control, records control, and control of nonconforming product as well as maintain related records
• Basic inspection skills preferred, including the use of common inspection, measuring and test equipment
• Must have basic project management skills and be able to use MS Office software

Responsibilities

• Manage the internal audit program in accordance with ISO 9001 and procedure A007
• Manage the corrective action program, ensuring adequate root cause analysis and records maintenance in accordance with ISO 9001 and procedure A006
• Apply the correct SPC technique to a specific application and interpret results to assess process controls and capabilities
• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on raw materials, work in process, finished goods, or First Article Inspections
• Identify and segregate nonconforming parts in accordance with documented procedures and maintain records of nonconforming product
• Represent the company to customer representatives and third-party auditors
• Read and interpret prints and specifications
• Assist in quality planning and improvement of production paperwork
