Responsibilities
- Works closely with Customer Service, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to:
- Collect and analyze data related to supplier failures, internal manufacturing failures, and RMA failures from customers
- Control internal defects and perform analysis and appropriate disposition of manufacturing scrap
- Maintain supplier material certification records
- Support customer purchase orders by creating conformance documents with actual data gathered during the assembly process
- Track corrective action items, ensuring timely implementation and verify effectiveness
- Organizes and maintains meeting agendas, minutes, and action items for weekly, monthly, and bi-annual meetings/conference calls
- Collaborates with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Sales to develop corrective and preventive actions for defects
- Conducts periodic process audits of manufacturing processes to facilitate continuous improvements
- Coordinates return of failures to suppliers through non-conforming process, follows up for corrective actions, and ensures effectiveness
- Identifies and drives continuous process improvement activities globally for the company
- Conducts first article inspection approval for new part numbers or changes in supplier, as necessary
- Coordinates and facilitates calibration, both on-site and with outside vendors; maintains calibration records in compliance with ISO9001:2015
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures; organizes work areas for efficiency and safety
- Provides status reports to management as required
- Performs other duties as assigned to reinforce and coach disciplines
Requirements
- Familiarity with measurement equipment: calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, thickness gauges, pressure, and leak measurement instruments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including creating/editing Word documents and PowerPoint work instructions
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for maintaining electronic files
- Two-year technical degree and/or two years' experience as a Quality Analyst or equivalent combinations of skills and experience
- Proven teamwork ability and basic understanding of statistics
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members
- Ability to write speeches and articles conforming to prescribed style and format
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- Proficiency in applying basic mathematical concepts and statistical analysis (e.g., computing averages, frequency distributions, Pareto analysis, plotting histograms, bar, line, and pie charts)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, MRP platforms, and statistical software
- Proven problem-solving ability; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; and talk or hear
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
Working Conditions
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock in operations or laboratory areas
- Moderate noise level in the work environment; occasionally high due to open office environment
