About the role

The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is a full-time position located in Latham, with some travel within the Capital District. This role is responsible for enhancing the quality of life and independence for individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and approves program Staff Action Plans in accordance with OPWDD regulation and agency policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and approves Life Plans for all program participants.
  • Communicates with the Care Manager, Participant, and/or provider to ensure that the Staff Action Plan meets the Participant’s needs and desires; supplies guidance or direct intervention when it does not.
  • Completes monthly billing report review.
  • Maintains and monitors Life Plans and Staff Action Plans for compliance and quality standards, including timely completion, distribution, and attestation.
  • Conducts informal reviews in areas such as ensuring records are up to date and complete; documentation meets both compliance and quality standards.
  • Collaborates with Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Program Leaders regarding training materials and serves as a QIDP Resource.
  • Provides coverage for other agency QIDP’s as applicable.

Requirements

  • MUST HAVE BOTH Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field (sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, and psychology) at least 1 year working with people with Intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD population).
  • Computer skills: Word processing, Google suite; E-mail and database software.
  • Additional years of experience in plan writing and development is preferred.
  • Daily access to an automobile is required. The position requires occasional travel to programs.
  • A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field (sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, and psychology).
  • At least 1 year of experience working with people with Intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD population).
  • Computer skills: Word processing, Google suite; E-mail and database software.
  • Additional years of experience in plan writing and development is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and agency policies and procedures.
  • Experience in developing and implementing care plans.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and databases.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $24.25 - $32.00/hr, based on relevant experience.

Schedule

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday.
