About the role
This position is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating behavioral management plans. It involves assessing and intervening in emergency and crisis incidents, providing staff training, analyzing psychological data, and assisting in functional behavioral assessments.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the ID Team to design individualized plans for each client.
- Conduct group sessions for clients as outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP).
- Collect, compute, and analyze behavior program data.
- Provide staff in-service training on behavioral management plans.
- Prepare monthly progress notes based on plans, observations, and attendance.
- Utilize crisis prevention and intervention techniques.
- Participate in peer review committees and meetings.
- Assist in transition and discharge planning.
- Score standardized tests measuring emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in a Human Services concentration, Special Education, or related field.
- At least one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities.
Skills
- Behavior modification therapy principles and techniques.
- Basic psychological evaluations and assessment tools.
- Crisis Management (CPI).
- Person Centered Thinking (PCT).
- Microsoft Office.
- Electronic Health Record (Avatar).
- Therapeutic communication.
- Follow established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Facilitate group sessions and individual sessions.
- Provide staff in-service training.
